Who operates this service

CatioPlanner operates this planning service. Privacy, access, correction, or deletion requests may be submitted through the Contact page.

Data we collect and why

When you submit a project, we process project type, dimensions, installation details, safety answers, optional budget preferences, and optional five-digit ZIP Code and state. ZIP Code and state support approximate regional wind, snow, permit, and cost guidance. We do not request a street address, full name, phone number, account profile, or photo upload.

We use submitted data to provide the planning workflow, enforce deterministic safety checks, diagnose service errors without placing project inputs in operational logs, and protect the service. We do not combine ZIP Code or state with identity data to build an advertising profile.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential browser storage to run the site, preserve the current interaction and checkout return state, and remember your analytics choice. Optional Cloudflare Web Analytics remains off unless you select “Accept.” Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or localStorage to collect usage metrics. If you accept, Cloudflare may process page URLs, referrers, browser and device details, interactions, and approximate network location under its own retention and privacy terms. Analytics remains off if you select “Reject” or withdraw consent, and it is always disabled on private results pages. Select “Cookie settings” below to withdraw consent or choose again. We do not use analytics for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Third-party services and AI

AI-assisted parsing is disabled in the current release, so project data is not sent to OpenAI for that feature. Before enabling it, we will update this notice. AI output may not override deterministic safety rules.

For a paid plan, our server creates a Stripe-hosted checkout and sends Stripe the selected plan, an order identifier, and a stable project identifier as payment metadata. We do not send project dimensions, ZIP Code, state, safety answers, plan contents, or card data in that metadata. Stripe processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy terms and retains records as required for payment processing, fraud prevention, disputes, tax, and legal compliance. CatioPlanner does not receive complete card details.

Retention

• Form and project inputs: project data, including any submitted ZIP Code and state, is retained on our servers for up to 30 days so the service can generate and return your results, then automatically deleted.
• Generated PDF or JSON: retained with the project for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted with it. A purchased Build download entitlement lasts 7 days; Complete lasts 30 days.
• Photos: not accepted in this release, so no photo or EXIF metadata is retained.
• Payment records: identifiers and status needed to reconcile a purchase, receipt, refund, or dispute may be retained separately for financial, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations.
• Operational and safety logs: exclude project inputs and personal information; anonymous request status or safety-event counts may be retained only for security, reliability, and aggregate measurement.

The current results interface does not offer self-service deletion. To request deletion before automatic expiry, use the Contact page. We will verify the request and delete eligible data, subject to records we must retain for payment, security, dispute, or legal obligations.

Sale, sharing, and your choices

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. You may ask to access, correct, or delete information associated with a request through the Contact page. We will verify and respond as required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Security

We use data minimization, restricted server-side secrets, input limits, safety checks, and non-PII operational logs. Production hosting is configured for HTTPS and browser security headers. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please do not submit information the form does not request.

Children

CatioPlanner is a DIY construction-planning service for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child submitted personal information so we can investigate and delete it.

Policy changes

We will post an updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. If a change materially affects how project data is collected, used, retained, or shared, we will provide a prominent notice when required.
